Joseph Perez
Joseph “The Official Famous Coach” Perez was born and raised in East Harlem, New York. Rooted in non-profit organizations, Coach Perez worked as an Aftercare Leader for the East Harlem Tutorial Program and was a student in their first graduating class for the High School Program. Upon graduating high school, Coach Perez attended Delaware State University, previously known as Wesley College, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree within three years and developed leadership skills working for a variety of students lead organizations. Some of these organizations include the Students Activities Board, Student Government Associations, and Resident Life. As a Division Three student athlete for the NCAA, he specialized in the 4×100 Meter Relay, 4×400 Meter Relay, and the open 400 Meter Dash, earning All-Academic/Conference Honors. He also was the President of the Xi Mu chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi., Fraternity Incorporated, Presidential Intern for the Schwartz Center of Performing Arts, and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Coach Perez moved to the Treasure Coast in the Spring of 2014 and obtained a Personal Training certificate at the World Instructor Training School at Indian River State College in the Summer of 2014. Coach Perez worked as personal trainer for eighteen months before transitioning as a Middle School Physical Education Teacher at the Renaissance Charter School of Port St Lucie. While at Renaissance Charter School, Coach Perez organized the largest Middle School Athletic Program in St Lucie County and led the Cross Country/Track team as the Head Coach. He eventually went on to work as an Upper School Instructor at St Andrews Episcopal Academy teaching Physical Education, Leadership, and English Language Arts. At St Andrews, he also worked as the E-Sports and Middle School Girls Basketball Coach.
