Pickleball Etiquette
Pickleball is one of our more popular programs here at the YMCA OF THE TREASURE COAST and ensuring that everyone involved has a safe, happy time is our biggest priority. As a reminder, our pickleball players should be…
- Acknowledging each other before the game begins
- Treat all players and users of the gymnasium with courtesy and respect.
- Use good sportsmanship, if you know your ball went out, call it as such.
- If you are playing against a team where there is a significantly stronger player, play against the stronger player. You will forget about who wins any given game tomorrow, but if you play against the better player, you might learn something.
- Call out “BALL” when a ball rolls onto your court or an adjacent court to stop play.
- The YMCA is a family establishment, so ensure that all language is appropriate for young ears. Repeated use of inappropriate language may result in being asked to leave.
- Whether its 2 courts or 4 courts, but we must remain mindful of our fellow players, everyone should be rotating courts and opponents to give their friends in the pickleball community the best experience.
- Please return nets to the side of the gymnasium once the game is finished.
- Our pickleball program’s potential knows no bounds. The best way to make sure we keep growing the game is to be welcoming and courteous to new players. Remember the golden rule, treat others the way you wish to be treated.
