The YMCA was founded by a volunteer, George Williams in 1844 with the mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Come join the volunteer movement and help us fulfill the YMCA mission on the Treasure Coast!
If you are interested, please fill out the volunteer application and turn in the application at any of our branches. We do run background checks on ALL of our volunteers to protect our members and guests. The process takes 3-7 days to become approved. Social Security number and date of birth are required. If you do not feel comfortable releasing that information please contact a staff member about access to our Volunteer Portal.

Volunteer Opportunities
Assist swim instructor. Actively participate in swim lessons, keeping children busy and safe on the wall.
Monday – Thursday – 3pm to 7pm. Saturday 9:30am-1:30 pm

Teach children about the fundamentals of the specific sport (Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football and Volleyball) as well as good sportsmanship. Must have a fun, positive outlook and be at least 14 yrs old.
One hour per week for practice and one hour on Saturday (except volleyball which is Friday night) for games.
